Mac Software

Discontinued: Mac OS X Dock Separators

A goodie to keep clean the Mac OS X dock, this package was first released in 2004 and got over 12,000 downloads in the first 12 months. Here’s the description:

With MacOS X you can customize toolbars in the finder. So why can’t you customize your dock as well? With Dock Separators you can group your applications simply by dragging a copy of your favorite separator into the dock. You may just as easily remove a separator by dragging it away from the dock.

Discontinued: Mac OS X Think Different Screen Saver

This is a screen saver I built in year 2003 as a tribute to Apple. It got over 10,000 downloads before I stopped counting.

“iPassion wants to bring back to life Apple’s Think Different campaign with this screen saver. This is a tribute to Apple, doing what others don’t dare (or care) to. Unfortunatelly, what’s left of this historical ad campaign on Apple’s website lies in a simple press release library webpage and a “memorial” page. We want more. We want the posters and the places where those posters have been to fade in and out on our Mac’s display.”

Discontinued: Mac OS X Shut Down Timer

A very small AppleScript experiment I did and pushed on VersionTracker back in 2006, this is just a silent, simple, 3-lines-of-code AppleScript that tells the finder to shut down. Please note that Shut Down Timer will not answer to any application complaining about un-saved documents. So the Mac will actually not turn off if anything goes wrong.
